Community Advocates Ribfest, August 1-3
Another tasty Kalamazoo tradition kicks off Thursday at 11am! Specialty  Ribbers from all over the country will converge at the Arcadia Creek Festival Place for the always highly anticipated Ribfest. Ribfest is hosted by The Arc Community Advocates, whose goal is raise money for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Art Hop, August 2
There are many downtown Art Hop stops to check out this Friday. Stop by Pop City Popcorn for live music by Carrie McFerrin or stop by the Epic Center for the The Annual Black Arts Festival Invitational. National Night Out, August 6

Central City Community Garden
The Central City Community Garden will soon add a green touch to downtown. The garden located on the corner of Eleanor and Burdick Streets includes 10 raised beds, a compost area, and access to water. Beds will be available this summer for fall crops.Read the full MLive article.

Launch the Red Arrow Golf Outing
Since 2011, The Kalamazoo Municipal Golf Association has made an effort to restore the Red Arrow Golf course and provide low-cost urban recreation for the community.
